So Far
yet
So Close

Untouched
but
Touched

The Young
and
The Old

The Ancestors
and
Me

Happiness
and
Aloneness

You
and
Me

into

fabric

Yes?

"secret of belly button"

you said i can go deep into my belly button
but my mother used to say not to play with it
so i have been a little bit scared of my button

tonight

felt like diving into my belly button
deep into the hole
imagined the button goes into deep in my stomach
i may touch my pink warm meat

i..... go.... in...

little by little
soft wrinkles around me
feel like a womb
i may reborn again

then

i felt something in front of me
melty marshmallow wall

wow

the hole wasn't deep!

i am not scared any more!!

"A ladder for a thief"`

... please read from the bottom and imagine you climbing up a ladder in front of a sailboat...

"May Six, Two Thousands Six"

I am overwhelmed
Saw "Imagine", the documentary film
of John & Yoko
Cried and exhausted
in a good way
in a great way
my brain is stirred
taken out the bad parts, useless parts
only the beautiful parts left
inspired to be like them
inspired to be the "Love and Peace"
of the world

then Jimi Hendrix came on T.V.
the CD, the homeless guy stole from Starbucks
"Rainy day, Dream away"

Spend wonderful time with Mako yesterday
made love soup for him
looked up Mako's website just now
Saw the word "Hagakure"
how amazing that is
my father called me this morning
"Look"
Yukio Mishima is on the T.V.
mentioning "Hagakure" spirit

Mako, Mishima, Hagakure, John & Yoko
they are my inspiration

and you
to the people whom I may see in the future

"the sea of Time"

Time doesn't pursue us
Time is always with us
You can be a cool surfer
in the sea of Time

"Confession "

i am at Starbucks on 9th avenue
order grande americano
bigger than yesterday
sitting in the window side
melting the sun into me
feeling spring inside

a Homeless guy with Whole Foods plastic bags
coming in
is he hungry for a cup of coffee?
no
just wondering around
he finds Jimi Hendrix CD on a rack

"rainy day, dream away"

put it in his plastic bag smoothly
very swiftly
he says hi to me
i say hi
"are you going to sell it?"
i ask
"no, i'm going to listen to it."
pointing to his CD walkman
he smiles
"you are very nice. have a great day."

he pushes the glass door
walks into the bright morning sun

"not me"

everyone has a place to go
not me not me
i don't know where to go
where to spend all my day
everyone has a plan to do
not me not me
because today is my day off
i can do anything i want!

"On a Hot April day"

I wake up

Feel the hotness of my skin
Open the tiny hole of my room
Gives me some soft breezes
Listen to Bob Marley's soulful voice
Drink a bottle of grapefruit juice
Letting all of this go into my stomach
My body cherishes, shakes because of the coldness

Let's get out of this shell

Wooster Street
Say hi to John
Say hello to a painter
Say Good morning to me

I drink Seagram's Seltzer
Instead of Poland Spring
Bubbles through my throat
Pops through my mind
Like when Mako looks at me for the first time

“Mom! I want ice cream!”
Children make a line
To lick swirling ice cream
Pink, green, yellow, blue sweets

Skin Parade on the street
Melty chocolate Black
Long Island tea Brown
Juicy Lemon Yellow
Sweet Sugar White
This is New York

Cherry blossoms
“Sakura ga saita”
Blooming, dancing in the air
Floating pink snow
Even serious faces have smiles
Under the pink trees
Walking up into the air

I will sleep without pajamas tonight

"I was born in…"

I was born in Kamata, Tokyo

Homeless
Prostitutes
Gay people
In the park
In the station
In the supermarket
Murmuring
Shouting
Watching
Sleeping

I was born in Kamata, Tokyo

Granma was carrying me on her back
Saying
“Iiko, iiko. Never seen such a pretty baby”
Mom was holding me in her arms
Kissing me
On my cheeks
On my lips
On my soul

I was born in Kamata, Tokyo

Smell of
Night
City
Alcohol
Cigars
Toilets
Fast food
Chinese food
Ramen
Sushi

I was born in Kamata, Tokyo

I grew up in Fujisawa, Kanagawa

I could see Mt. Fuji
Every morning
Every evening
Every face
Pure, clear morning blue sky
Sun, rising a melty honey color
Burning, shining sunset
Smokey evening
A white hat on his head

In summer days
My skin tans
Smells like sunshine
Tastes like the first Gin-and-Tonic on the beach
Sounds like a shooting star dusting the sky

In summer days
I saw fireworks on the beaches of
Kamakura, Enoshima, Chigasaki, Tsujido, Zushi
I was crazy about
Exploding flowers over the beaches
Sprinkles of
Red crimson, Egyptian gold, Mediterranean blue, Emerald green
Disappearing into deep Shonan nights

Boogie boarding I command:
  Be a wave!
  Be the wind!
  Faster, faster!
  Give me more speed!

My skin was salty
In the Pacific Ocean
On the wave
I could feel
Connected with every continent
A part of the ocean
A part of the earth
Remembering
I was born from the ocean
Floating
Diving

I grew up in Fujisamwa, Kanagawa

Now I am in New York

Vibrations of hot energy
Crossing thoughts
Mixed
Mixed
I am comfortable
Putting myself in
This
Rainbow juice

People
Sing in overlapping layers
Shout with mouths clapping
Dance to world music rhythms
Speak in swinging words
Run in swift beats
Though the streets
and the subways
Through the parks

Now I am in New York

Smell
Honey peanuts
Hot dogs
Pizza
Coffee
Pretzels
Bagels
Curry
Sushi
Falafel
Yankee Stadium
Central Park
Harlem Nights
MOMA

I
Fell in love with New York
“and you can't take that away from me”
Like dancing with Tamango
Feeling his warmth through my soul
Hoping
To stay here
In New York
Forever
And ever

Now

I am in New York

"T.V. eyes"

September 11th
The moment
All the T.V. eyes of the world
We're watching at the same time
All the T.V. eyes of the world
We're looking at the same place
Bush called the attackers
Enermies and evil
But my T.V. eyes saw
There are no enemies, no evil
There are only human beings
We are all human beings
Calling them evil
Doesn't take us to the solution
At all
This is the time to think about
Not only the United States
But also the whole world
This is the chance to talk about
Our real world peace
Look with your T.V. eyes
For world peace
Watch with your T.V. eyes
For world peace
